01:15 pm So my intern didn't come in today because she didn't have the $4 for parking. First of all, what? Second, I can't believe she lost $40 for the day's work instead of asking me for the $4. That doesn't quite sound right. Anyway - I got here around 11 b/c I had to deal with the Post Office automatons about our Business Reply account. I hate dealing with the Post Office.
My door has been shut pretty much since I got here. I guess I should go show my face or something.

11:24 am So yesterday was a normal day for the most part. Instead of going to the gym after work, I went and got my high lights and low lights, and they turned out great. Incrediboy kept calling me while I was in the chair wanting me to meet him and a few friends out because he is leaving for California for the weekend. Even though my hair was looking quite fab, I couldn't decide.
Then it hit me. "What day is today?" "Wednesday," came the reply. Oh FUCK. I have a 9 am conference call with my board committee and I haven't sent out the agenda or any of the materials yet. I raced out of the salon to get started on the work. Meanwhile, Incrediboy has a few drinks in him and God knows what else, and is still calling. "I can't see you tonight, I'm really sorry. We'll make up for it when you get back." Then I just stopped answering the phone. I think I drank a whole bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to take the stress off.
But this morning, everthing went smoothly. No one commented on getting the materials last minute and the call went really well. Especially since I was still at home in my bathrobe. I'm dressed and at work now and kinda waiting on a few things from my boss before I can move ahead on a few of my projects. As always though, I have a grant report which is over due, because my grant reports are ALWAYS overdue for some reason. I guess I'd better get on that.
Have a great day everyone!

09:56 pm Edward Norton does the absolute worst British accent ever. It's so sad.

12:55 pm Have you ever thought about what you want on your Epitaph? That's kind of harder than deciding on a tattoo.
"Here lies Julie. She was a trainwreck."

11:03 am Well I was invited to go with a friend of mine to San Diego May 5 thru ??. But the only cheap flights are out of BWI - which is a bitch to get to and a HORRIBLE airport. This means that I would have to rely on Incrediboy to get me there and pick me up. Not my first choice based on reliability. Anyway - unfortunately I will have to pass. boo hoo. This friend does a lot of special events business there and knows everyone - it would have been a great time.
Eh - I might as well get it out of my head. Carry on.

10:11 am Weekend was awesome in Annapolis with Incrediboy, even though it rained Sunday afternoon just about as we were ready to leave. Going out on the boat was great, first sail of the year. BBQ was also great, met lots of cool new people. And now I have an open invitation to visit Annapolis any weekend with my own room. YAY! Didn't go to the croquet tournament because it kept raining and it kept getting delayed. Plus parking was a bitch. Have to take Vic to the airport Wednesday morning, so I will be staying at his place which is 5 minutes away from Dulles. That should be interesting.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Raining here again, so I may as well be at work.

11:22 am My favorite part of McSweeney's is the Lists. I could read them all day. Does reading McSweeney's make me a dork?

10:59 am Well I am off to Annapolis tomorrow for a weekend of grilling, boating, drinking, sex, drugs, sex. I was told to bring a bustier and stilletto boots.

10:14 am - Pope in a Box So they say that 46,000 people are going to show up for mass today. Who comes up with that number? How do they know? I always wondered about that.
The other thing I wonder is why the Nationals new park doesn't have a corporate name attached to it, like Fedex Field, Petco Park, etc. Shouldn't it be something like Halliburton Park or Northrop Grumman Stadium? I don't know, just a thought.

09:20 pm Oh Lord, Incrediboy wants to spend the weekend in Annapolis. I don't know if I can handle that much time with him. He is like a hurricane. Only if I can bring Oz will I stay an extra day. I think it's a bad idea, I should tell him just one night. ugh - just babbling here.

10:44 am My intern starts on Friday - YAY!! I hope she's not an pinhead. But we have no agreement between us on time length so if she isn't working out, I'll just get rid of her.
My boss has a lunch appt. today which means he'll be gone a few hours. I'm trying to decide if I should run over to Pentagon City Mall to exchange an extremely ugly sweater I bought in San Diego so that I wouldn't freeze to death at the baseball game. It's a nice day, so maybe I will.
Anyhoo - hope you are all having a good day. I actually left the house before 9 this morning. Of course, technically I am supposed to be here at 9, but it's not like anyone notices.

09:53 pm Well, six years ago today, my mom arrested on the cart on her way to a CAT scan. She never recovered. I hope she can't see me from wherever she is.

01:58 pm - so, gun range... I didn't know what to expect, except that he told me that it would be redneck central. And he was right. Minnesota has a lot of gun freaks. There were a lot of kids there that day too - not shooting, but in the main area for some safety class. Not very reassuring I have to say.
Anyway, I started with the .357. This is the P229 Sig which is standard issue for NSA, CIA, FBI and apparently Air Marshals. It was a bit big for my hand but easy to shoot and not much of a kick. The P232 is smaller but lighter and more of a kick. I didn't like that one, so mostly I went with the .357. I did better than I thought. At about 15ft I was still in the 50pt. area. Until my arms started getting tired. Then I would spray a throat shot, shoulder, somewhere in the gut (mmmm, sepsis.) I shot over 400 rounds, faster than he could load the magazines. I used up all his hollow points. oops.
So that was a lot of fun. But for the price of even a small pistol, I could get a new tattoo. It's all a matter of perspective and priority I guess.

10:57 pm - Home Sweet Home Weekend with Air Marshal was spectacular. I can't decide if my favorite part was the hog tie sex or the gun range. But he says I don't have to have a favorite so that makes sense to me.
Lots of stories, but I won't bore you with details. Let's just day I am really looking forward to next month when he is in town for two weeks of training. I hope he remembers to bring the spreaders. LOL.

10:38 am - Random Stuff Don't you hate when the toilet paper (mostly in public toilets) only comes off one sheet at a time?
I think I will do my Tarot before I get on the plane tomorrow.
To that end, I sure am glad I'm not flying American.
I am rockin' the 60's mod look today.
I got my travel reimbursement check today- woohoo! I don't know why I feel like that's free money.
Grande Skim Chai - breakfast of champions.

01:57 pm Fresh from my waxer, I am almost ready to go. Today is Air Marshal's birthday and ferretsofglory's!! I will arrive about 1:00 pm on Friday and then the fun begins. I can't wait to see him for some reason. We didn't date for very long before Homeland Security whisked him off to the frozen tundra. But maybe that's why - we didn't get a chance to get on each other's nerves.
Anyhoo - had another panic attack this morning and couldn't get out of bed. I was literally afraid to put my feet on the floor, even though I knew it was all stupid and irrational. I need to get over that kind of shit.
Alright, Boss is in an offsite meeting today so I will be painting my nails for the next 20 minutes or so. Have a great day!

05:15 pm I dont want to leave the office yet because I don't think I am up for 90 minutes of hard core cardio. But that's my goal. And I forgot my heart rate monitor, it's in my boxing bag. I also forgot my phone today, which is kind of liberating. No annoying calls or texts.
And when I get home, I get to fix the spray thingie on the kitchen faucet and look at roomates toilet which is leaking again. Then I get to scrub my tub and shower which desparately needs it. Seriously considering a maid again.

05:32 pm Had a date with Incrediboy last night. One minute we were on the sofa chatting and a million things happened and then the sun was coming up and the birds were chirping. We got to sleep about 6:00 am. I am just getting my shit together now. Incrediboy is a whirlwind. He walks into the room and everything starts to happen. When he leaves here its like your first day on vacation when you finally have a chance to relax and unwind.
